Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About

Project 10 Spring 2012

Graffiti Writing

Overview

Graffiti Writing at Venice Beach Legal Art Walls. Students in this course range from those who have never picked up a brush or spray can, to peeps who may be current or former graffiti writers. There is no skill level of achievement for this project, the requirement is for effort (and fun)

Venice Beach may be the most culturally diverse part of the most culturally diverse city of the most culturally diverse state of the most culturally diverse nation on the face of the earth — so — soak it up! From the Legal Art Walls to peeps selling paintings and crafts on the boardwalk for a few dollars to the work of the world’s most celebrated artists, sculptors, architects, and motion picture visual effects houses… it’s all just a few blocks… just a few minutes walk. Your “assignment” is to try graffiti writing at the legal art walls, but be sure to poke around this unique, eclectic, American city. And perhaps you’ll want to shoot some video while you’re here for next week’s P11 video project.
